Upon graduating from the University of Oklahoma, David started his fitness career in sales and marketing for All American Fitness Centers in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In 2000, he moved to Dallas where he managed a corporate based fitness center located in the heart of North Dallas. In addition to management responsibilities, David also was responsible for design, development, and the equipment purchasing of fitness centers for Post Properties, a property management company with properties throughout the southwest. It was during this stage in his career that David recognized a strong need for services specializing in fitness facility management, design, and development.
In 1997, David established Fitness Design, Inc. with his brother Mark. The following year, he opened The Fitness Club in an effort to display the company’s talents. The design of the club emphasizes the effects the built environment has on the functionality of a fitness facility. In addition to acting as CEO of Fitness Design, Inc., David oversees the daily operations, staffing, and marketing of both company owned facilities. As a certified personal trainer, David also maintains an active role in the educating and training of the company’s staff trainers. He frequents industry trade shows and seminars to keep abreast of the latest technology and trends.
Born and raised in Norman, Oklahoma, Mark attended the University of Oklahoma, where he received bachelor degrees in Architecture and Construction Science. His professional career in Oklahoma began in 1992 at Miles Associates, where he worked on numerous health care related projects as well as academic and corporate facilities.
In 1996 Mark took his architecture experience and moved to Dallas to join his brother in creating Fitness Design, Inc., where he is the Design Principal for the company. He has also been the Managing Principal for architecture projects ranging from high-end residential to muti-million dollar commercial projects. In addition, Mark has acted as Facility Manager for the company’s two Dallas facilities. This experience provides him with a unique blend of skills including design and planning ability, management skills, and the ability to work and relate to people and projects in the fitness industry.
